The spirit of the troops is illustrated by the following typical incident 11 Amiens: The colonel of a regiment »vas waiting on the platform with his iien when the stationmaster saluted, saying: "Y r our compartment is in the ■•pecial carriage in the front of the L.rain." "Never mind about my compartment," said the colonel. "My i>lace is among my men." Letters /rum soldiers received here all emphasise the kindness of the officers to flieir men.
