PRESBYTERY OF WANGANUI

The Presbytery of Wanganui met at Marton yesterday. In view of the serious crisis, the first fifteen minutes were spent in intercessory, prayer. A resoluton (published in another column) was passed regarding the war.

It was resolved to ask Territorials volunteering for service abroad who are connected with the Presbyterian Church in New Zealand to acquaint the minister of their district with their intention,, so that due intimation be given to the chaplain who may accompany the forces. It was also resolved that the prayer meetings be as far as possible meetings for intercession in the interests of peace and to co-operate in united prayer meetings wherever they are held.

The Presbytery congratulated the Hon. R. K. Simpson upon his promotion to the Legislative Council. A call from Fordell to Rev. P. B. Fraser, M.A.,' was declined by Mr Fraser.
