New York, March 211 Willie Ritehio defeated Ab Wolgast at Milwaukee,, outpointing him in the first five rounds, and sending him to the floor for a count of four in the seventh. The newspaper decision gave him the win by a shade in 10 rounds.
Superior glove-play gave Ritclffe the victory. Early in the fight he landed repeatedly with left hooks and solid right-hand punches to the head, and Wolgast was frequently warned by the referee for apparent-" ly rough tactics.
After Ritchie pi-otested his opponent commenced to make a rushing battle of it, but when he was floored in the seventh with, a volley of punches to the. stomach he was obviously robbed of his speed.
Wolgast complained of a foul blow in the seventh session, and, according to Dr Mort'er, a member of the State Boxing Commission, who examined hini at the conclusion of the match, ho had received a hard blow in the groin.
