Reports from country districts regarding the storm show that enormous damage was done to property and stock. Over 26 inches of rain fell along the South Coast and one place recorded 12 inches in 12 hours. Several mines at AVollongong are closed, as they are too flooded to work and 1000 men are idle. a.
