THE POULTRY INDUSTRY.
It is understood (says the Post) that arrangements are in progress to give a considerable fillip to the poultry industry, which has not .been receiving over-much attention of late. Th© constitution of tho Board of Agricultur e provided for by an Act passed last session contains the idea that consideration shall be given to the poultry industry in connection with .the appointments, and it is probabl e that a well-known poultry man from Asliburton will be appointed to a seat on the board. Further, it is suggested that in the near future arrangements will be mad e to have an instructor appoint-ed for the South Island, in order to develop in that part of the Dominion an industry whicli, it is thought, only requires consideration to achieve a very much larger measure of development.
