STAMPING NEWSPAPERS.
The postage prepaid on newspapers for Australia and the "United States of America is frequently deficient. In view of the widespread misapprehension which appears to exist in regard to the correct postage, the following is published for general information: The rate of postage payable ou newspapers printed and published in New Zealand addressed to tho Commonwealth of Australia is Id [or each newspaper not exceeding ing 20oz, in weight. For newspapers exceeding 20oj_ an extra charge of id for e ach addition lOoz or fraction thereof is also payable. On newspapers addressed to tho United States of America, for each newspaper Id for the first 4oz.and _d for each additional 2oz or fraction. Theso rates also apply generally to newspapers which are not printed and published in New Zealand.
