In a trial in New York for the unlawful sale of cocaine, ah Englishman who gave evidence admitted, he used an assumed nama when purchasing t_ig stuff . from the accused, and that he was a victim of the cocaine habit. He also told the Court that he was an Eton and Oxford man, and a member of an old family. He had been decorated with the Royal yictorian Order, and served in the South African War, being wounded in the engagement of Spion Kop- Soon afterwards he cut adrift from his relatives. He had pawned his war medals in-order to purchase cocaine.. -
