President Wilson, answering objection to the repeal of the Panama tolls, that it is inconsistent with the Democratic platform, points out that the Exemption Bill was carried only with the aid of the Republican votes. The President expects the support of 200 Democrats when the House votes on the question. London, March 24. Router's Washington correspondent says stubborn opposition has arisen in the House against the repeal of the Canal tolls. A peculiar feature is that Messrs Clark and Underwood and other politicians who usually support the Wilson Administration are now opposing the repeal.
