A scuffle occurred in Villa's office, after which perfect quiet followed. The body was removed later. The Consul infers that Mr Benton was stabbed. He does not state who did the stabbing, but it is thought it was likely one of Villa's officers. Mr" Benton appeared before Villa, as was his custom, unarmed.
