A. TALE TOLD IN COURT

This morning Mr J. W. Poynton, S.M., heard an application by Florentine Lilian Cross, for whom Mr Graham appeared, for an order of separation from her husband, Herbert Owen Cross. Complainant gave evidence in support of the application and testified to frequent cruel actions of defendant, avlio was possessed of a vile temper. In his outbursts he had smashed crockery, cursed and struck complainant, besides threatening the lives of complainant and the two children-. The whole five years of their married life had been very unhappy, due to defendant's uncontrollable temper. The evidence given by Complainant was. corroborated by a feminine witness. •

The order for separation'was granted, defendant to pay 30s per week as maintaiiiance of complainant and the two children. Complainant was given custody of tlie children.
