A MATTER OF HISTORY.
Little Wilfred looked worried! He stood on one of the best library chairs and one by one his grubby paws seized on the best bound books in the case and turned them over, only to return them to the shelves again. It was evident that he was looking for something—something important. And then Wilfred's pa entered noiselessly, and at his sharp "Wilfred!" one of his choicest volumes fell with a crash to the floor.
"It's all right, pa," he said. "I'm only looking for the 'History of England.'" "The 'History of England' ! Whatever for?"
"Why, Johnnie Spooner, at our school, say that Joe Ongley played! for Manawatu two years ago, and I say he didn't 1"
