CHELTENHAM.

THE SCHOOL PICNIC.

A large assemblage of grown-ups and children gathered on the cricket ground ior the annual school picnic. The afternoon was sp.ent by the children in games of different kinds, in races, and high jumping. Prizes in money for the different events were distributed by Mrs i Robert Barrow. Members of they-locaViTschool committee were busy most ofvfche day in getting things ready and organising the events. A capital tea, presided over by Mesdames Stretton and Murray, was partaken of in the afternoon. About 4 o'clock the 'distribution of the school prizes too place. Mr JU-liityi-e made the presentation, giving a few happy remarks to the prizewinners.
