LAST NIGHT'S FORECAST.
The Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast is as under: Though the conditions have been stormy in both the northern and southernmost districts, the weather. has been generally mild: and changeable. Moderate south-westerly gales are. also now reported on the West Coast of the South Island, and rain on the East Coasts of Both Islands. The glasshas fallen everywhere. Present indi-' cations are for rain in most parts of the country, with southerly and .westerly winds prevailing, strong to gale. - The barometer will probably rise slowly everywhere.
