BY ELEOTBIO TE^EGBAPH —COPYRIGHT.

(PEB PEESS ASSOCIATION.)

(Received Jan. 31, 8.55 a.m.) , Melbourne, January 31. Speaking 'at the Australian Natives' Association dinner, Commonwealth Premier Fisher said it was the Government's intention to build not only small boats for the navy in Australia, but some larger vessels. There had been some criticism over the proposed visit of the members of the Federal Parliament to the Coronation, but they must remember the Imperial Conference was also ■holding its meeting, and it was desirable that the Australian representatives should, be present at a gathering which was to deal with matters so important to the nation. Regarding legislatio, the Federal Government had no intention of resting on its laurels.

' Premier Murray (Victoria) referring ing legislation, the Federal Governtion was being attacked it a way that was not for the welfare of the Australians. . They did not want a Government of millions of people concentrated in one body. They wanted to see the legislation required by the various units of the Commonwealth made by those best able to perform it.
