FLORAL FETE ON WEDNESDAY.
The indications of a successful function on the racecourse on Wednesday next are very favourable, and the ladies' committee are working hard to ensure that end. Owing to artificial decorations being allowed in all the classes, the competition will be more keen than usual, and entries have already been received for decorated bicycles from both adults and children and for decorated motor cars. A number have intimated their intention of entering ponies, and it is believed the other classes will also fill well. We are asked to remind those who have promised to contribute towards the refreshment-room that they can leave their baskets at Messrs Barton and Aylmer's up to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, while contributors of sweets may leave them at Mr John Cobbe's establishment.
