The i building was packed with an enthu- j siastic and appreciative audience, wlio i were treated to an excellent pro- i gramme of songs, recitations, and in-' struinentai dteni;;. The Metdiodist choir from Apiti was present, and rendered some excellent anthems. The ladies of the Valley provided supper on a most liberal .scale, and full justice was done to the many good things provided. During the course of the evolving, the Rev. J. 11. Wliite read a statement showing the financial position of the diiircn. TJiere is a valance of £3 16s 8d owing, but it was fully anticipated tliat the proceeds from the social would more than cover the deficiency, tlras leaving the Ohuroh free of debt, a matter of congratulation to the residents. Opportunity was also taken to compliment the contractors on the excellent job ) clone. Mr Guy expressed thanks, on I behalf of the trustees, to all who 'hiad • helped to make the social a success. Mies Hel.dt acted as aecompatayist, and Misses Gill and Lily G\iy as organists.
