WANGANUI CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Wanganui, March 28. The tennis tournament was continued to-day in beautiful -weather. Championship results:— Men's Singles—Semi-final: Powdrell beat Wybourne, 6—4, 6—5; Morpeth beat Butterworth, 6—5, 5—6, 6—3; Morpeth and Powdrell are to play off.
Ladies' Singles—Final: Miss Brewster beat Miss Cave, 6—4, 6—4. Men's Doubles—Third round: Capeln and Sellar beat Morpeth and Snelling, 9 —4; Wybourne brothers beat Morton and Webster, 9—4. Ladies' Doubles—Semi-final: Migses William and Wilson beat Misses Lock and Wilson, 4—6, 6—3, 6—2; Mrs Jones and Mies Powdrell beat Misses Simpson and Breweter, 6—5, 6—3.
Combined Doubles—Third Round: Miss Simpson and SAvainson beat Miss N. Wilson and Earle, b—s, 6—3.
The semi-finals and finals are to be played in the morning.
