PALMER'S MARKET REPORT.
Mr Harry Palmer reports a moderate entry of pigs, confined principally to_ weaners, slips and stores, very lew porkers offering. We had a very big entry of poultry of splendid allround quality, and prices showed a distinct improvement. There is a | scarcity of vegetables, such as cabbage, carrots, and parsnips. Potatoes are firm in price, and there is a good demand for sound samples. Onions are now more plentiful, and prices are easier. We-have had an exceptionally heavy week with fruit, over 2000 cases of Hawke's Bay and colonial fruit being handled. Prices are on a par with previous quotations, pears and 'peaches slightly easier; tomatoes slight improvement.
