WEDDINGS.
PEARSON— HUNT. Rongotea had a very happy, beautiful, and popular wedding on Tuesday, when at t.he Wesleyan Church -Ur Rowland R. Pearson, second son of Mr R. Pearson, of Victoria, was joined m holy wedlock to Miss Lis Lillian Hunt, eldest daughter of Mr H. H. Hunt, the very well known resident of Rongotea. Tho bride was one of the most valued members, of the choir, and her fellow choristers with many willing friends, had the church gracefully and tastefully, decorated for the occasion. The marriage took place in the presence of a large congregation by Rev. G. B Hunt (uncle of the bride), assisted by t.lie Rev. G. Frost. The bride, who was becomingly attired in a dress of white silk with silk trimmings, was given away by her father, and was attended by four bridesmaids, her sisters Elsie and Leola, and Olive and Kathleen, sisters of the bridegroom. Ihe bridegroom was attended by Messrs O S. Hunt and H. Pearson. Ihe wedding guests were entertained at "Puke Pai," the home of the brides parents. In the evening the happy couple left for Palmerston, en route for Napier, where the honeymoon will be spent, t.he bride travelling m a grey tailor-made costume and white hat. BAKER-WHITEHEAD, A w_;Y(i:-.g which created great interest in Palmerston was celebrated •at the Congregational Church on Wednesday afternoon, when Miss Lilian Selby Whitehead, only daughter of Mr J. J. Whitehead, of Palmerston, was married to Mr Sidney George Baker, of the N.Z. Times reporting staff, eldest soil of the Rev S. Baker. The Rev. D. Hird, M.A., was the officiating clergyman. The bride was given away by her fatjber, the bridesmaids were the Misses Cnpp, Dahl, K. Randall, and M Whitehead. Mr Fred. Baker was best man and Messrs J. U. Whitehead, Smith, and C. A. Poulsen groomsmen. The honeymoon will be spent- in Tasmania.
