LONDON MEAT MARKETS. Messrs W. Weddel and Co. send us the following weekly market report, dated London, January 28:— Butter.—The weather has been dry, with very severe frost, and snow covers a large areajsf the Kingdom. The strong market which, prevailed last week has suddenly developed into an exciting situation, and prices have risen from 8s to 10s per cwt. for Australian and New Zealand of all grades and qualities. It is difficult bo believe that this is due to the law of supply and demand, though since last Jolly the shortage compared with the previous, year is very great.
