TO THE POHANGINA COUNTY COUNCIL.
TO TUB EDITOR,
Sir, —The Minister of Lands on his recent visit to 'Apiti noticed the dangerous state of th sharp cornffrs on the cuttings at each side of the bridge on the main road between Kimbolto'n and Apiti, and spontaneously offered a grant of £250, provided that the Councils interested would provide £ for £, and get the work done. The Kiwifcea and Pohangina Couiicils Avere waited on in regard to this matter. The former recognised the urgency ol the case, and promised half the amount needed if the Pohangina Council would provide the remainedr. So far, the latter Council has : done nothing. Cr Howie was in favour jf the expenditure. Only one of tho Councillors needs to use this part of the main ro;irt. otherwise something would have been done long ago. Is tho Councillor who represents this ward asleep? "Tnkss the Council gives this matter its attention immediately, the ratepayers will -be put to the trouble of calling a' public meeting or canvassing the.district with a petition, when thero is not the least doubt but that would vote-_ for the pxpohdiL ( :-re. Thanking you in antic^Ajon—l am, etc., / -,' . Ratepayer.
