The wheat crops of North Otago, as wias expected, promise a heayy yield, but the farmers are not altogether pleased with the position. Some have declared that unless they 1 get a spell of hard, dry weather very soon they are going to suffer a loss, j the explanation being that the trequent and heavy rains of the last month or two have induced a tendency to rust in the growing wheat. No serious damage Txas yet been dono, ■ though decided signs of rust have been found, and a few weeks of really fin* , weather, coming at once, will remove ' all .possibilities of trouble. ' Christmas outfits ©an be obtained cheap at th,e special stock reduction sale now on at the Bon Marche. Men's and boys' outnts and ladi«s' and children's — every article from footwear to headgear— *t reduced prices while the Bale lasts. i OlapTiam'fi Patent Honjeholder is now the standard precaution against runaways, and it is worth noting that Mr G. B. Healey, saddler and harnessmaker, Kinrbolton road, Feilding, has obtained the sole right to manufacture the Horseholderfi in this district, and is prepared to supply them in any outntity. wholesale and retail. — Adrfc.
