Tin; people ol' Ifongotea and district are to be congraulated upon the great success of their iir.st Horticultural and Industrial Show. Visitors, including the judges who officiated at the function, were amazed at the quality and niiinlicr of the exhibits and the efficient manner in which the officials had carried out their duties. When we point out that there were seven hundred entries ; some idea «>i the work involved in having everything ready for the opening yesterday will be understood. The affair was very well patronised, and those who were present in the afternoon were able lo congratulate themselves upon being able to inspect the exhibits very much better than was the cisc in the evening, owing to the difficulty in the crush. Now that Hie society has made such a good start, (line should be nothing to prevent ■rreat advances being made in connection with the shows in the future.
