The advance in price was fully maintained. J A very small quantity was held over. Business in the manufacturing districts is improving, and the prospects are favourable. The estimated values are: Superior merino Is to Is 2d, medium ditto lOd to Is, inferior, ditto 7d to 7£d, fine crossbreds, all grades Is to Is 3d, medium crossbreds, till grades, 9£d to Hid, coarse crossbreds all grades 6id to 9Jd. The finals in the polo tournament to-day resulted: Hawke's Bay (hoflders) won the Saville Cup, defeating Rangitikei by five to two. The Handicap Cup was won by Parewanui (Rangitikei handicap 10), who defeated Hawke's Bay- 15 (handicap 7) by 14 to 11. Lady Plunket presented the prizes. FEILDING MAYORAL ELECTION. MR S. W.
