THE POSITION AT SAMOA.
Auckland, March 16. On the 7th inst., when the steamer Tvmeric \yas at Apia, Samoa, there ■ was no sign of any trouble among tho natives there. "In fact," said Air Postle, chief officer of the Tym.eric, in conversation to-day, "a more peaceful lot of natives one could not wish to come across.' Mr I'ostle added that as far as he could see there was no need for German warships.
