[ras-rasse AsaooiAiieN.] Duuediu, December 29 At th« Burnside stock market, at i& usual during New Xear week, small yardings of cattle, sheep, and pigs were forwarded to-day. Not many buyers were present, and little business was done.. Butchers, as a rule, get in their New ¥ear supply at the Christmas sale. Sheep : 928 yarded, a medium quantity. J\rward prieces were firmer. Best wethers, 17s 6d to 19s; extra 235; medium, 15s to 16s; inferior, 13s 6d to 14s; best ewes, 15s to 16s; extra, 19s; medium, 12s 6d to 13s 6d. Lambs: 469 yarded. On account of the small yarding the prices were firmer. The quality was good. Best lambs, 16s to 16s; extra, 17s; medium, 13s 6d to 14s 6d; inferior, 12s to 12s 9d. Cattle: 161 yarded, a fair yarding of medium quality. Prices were again slightly easier. Best bullocks, £8 10s to £9 6s; extra, £10 6s; inferior, £6 6s to £6 I 10s : best cows and heifers, £6 10s to £7; medium. £6 to £5 10s; inferior, £4 to £4 10s. Pigc: 32 yarded. Porkers and baconers were in demand, and the few forward sold under brisk competition, prices going up id per lb. Young pigs were also wanted, but practically none were forward. Very few suckers were penned. Suckers, 14s to Ma; slips, 23s to 265; stores, 28s to 335; porkers, 88s to 435; light baconers, 45s to 48s; heavy, 53s to 60s.
