The horse, saddle ? and bridle were found on the roadside, about a mile from the township, the following morning. The hrst annual conference of delegates of the General Labourers' Unions in the Wellington industrial district terminated yesterday. It was decided to set a sum aside at re-, gular intervals to assist in the pro- — duotion of a newspaper, to be run in the labour interests. The secretary (Mr M. J. Reardon) was instructed to make an organising tonr of the district as soon as possible. The scheme of federation of the •' General Labourers' Union of the dominion was approved, and it was notified that the Wairarapa Navvies and General Labourers' Union had uM> decided to affiliate with the Welling- ~~~ ton Union on terms to be arranged. . % The conference devised a scheme \is conditions connected with the preference clause in the country awards will be made operative.
