[PEB PEESS ASSOCIATION.] Christchurch, December 29. At the Addington yards to-day there was a small entry of sheep and a small attendance of fat cattle, which showed a further decline in values. Store sheep sold at late rates, and fat lambs were easier, and fat sheep opened well but prices fell back to last week's level. Pigs were dull of sale, except weaners, which were in good demand. There was a short entry of store sheep, and a few buyers were present. Thre was a good demand, and prices were equal to those ruling at late sales and all lots changed hands. A line of seven and eight-tooth ewes and lambs made. 12s all counted; 350 halfbred wethers sold at 12s 6d, and several small lots of two-tooth halfbred wethers brought lis to 13s 6d acording to size and condition. A few crossbred ewes in the wool, of mixed ages, made lis 9d. There was a small entry of fat lambs, and the butchers were the only buyers. There was limited competition, and prices were ls to ls 6d per head below the previous week's rates. Prime lambs made 14s 6d to 16s. A few extra 17s 9d, and lighter lie 7d to 14s. * There was also a short yarding of fat sheep, and the market opened well, "but as the butchers required only small supplies, prices afterwards declined to last week's level. Best wethers made 15s 6d to 18s id, lighter 14s to 15s, best ewes 14s to 15s 9d, a few extra 17s lOd, and others lis to 13s 6d. Cattle: Only 161 head of fat cattle were penned, a large proportion _ of which were of good to prime quality. There was a dull sale, and prices showed a further decline:. Steers made £6 10s to £10 10s; heifers £5 10s to £8 7s 6d, and oows £5 to £7 15s, equal to 21s to 22s 6d for prime, 18s to 20s 6d for medium, and 17s 6d for cow and inferior per lOOlbs. The yarding of store cattle was a small one, and the demand poor for all descriptions. Sales were difficult to make. Yearlings brought to 24s 6d; fifteen to eighteen months sorts £l 19s; two and half year steers £4 Fs; three year steers £5 19s; dry cows j £3 18s. A mixed line of fifteen j months to two and a. half year heif- j ers made £2 Bs. Dairy cows were I few in number. They met with a' poor sale at £3 10s to £7. Pigs: There was a short yarding of pigs, and fats were in poor demand, as were also large stores, but weaners sold very well; choppers & rrtd up to 655, large baconers 68e to 81s, and lighter 48s to 52s 6d, equal to 4jd to 5d per lb.
