At the Ohriatchuroh Competitions Society's contest last night, the attendance was very poor. Sullivan, of the Lyttelton Marine Band, won the B-flat cornet contest; Rowlands . . (Mite Band) the baritone; Turner . (Elite Band) the trombone; Colbns \iimaru Marine Band) the B-nat bass; and Childs (Lyttelton Marine -Band) tbe E-flat bass. Out of seven bands wbich entered, -only two took part, the Lyttelton Marine and Elite •'playing the test selection. They will play another to-nKtfrow evening beidre tbe final award is made.
