ADDINGTON STOCK SALES.

The lamb sale was a brisk one, but the fat cattle sale was ratnor dull. The sale was very slow, aad was the poorest held at Addington for some time past. Quotations : — Cattle: Steers made £6 12s 6a to £11 ss; heifers, £5 5s to £7 ss; and cows, £4 10s to £7 15s; best steer beef made from 21s 6d to 24s j. medium, 18s 6d to 21s; cow beef 17 s to 18s per lOOlbs. The entry of fab calves was fair, but the demand was weak, their representative prices ranging from 4s 6d to 50s. Pigs: The entry of pigs was a moderate one, and the demand poor. Choppers realised up to £3; heavy baconers made 50s to 555., and lighter 42s 6d to 47s 6d, equal to about 4Jd per lb; porkers made 35s to 40s, equal to 5d to s}d per lb; no large stores came forward, and medium sorts made from 24s to 28s; weaners brought up to 18s. Sheep: In the fat lamb pens there was a fairly large entry, and the demand was active. Prime lambs "realised 15s to 18s 6d, a few extra prime making 12s, and lighter 13s 2d to 14s 6d. The entry of store sheep was very small. The prices realised represented an advance of from ls to Is 6d as compared with recent sales, and other descriptions also participated in the improved tone .of the market. Six and eight-tooth ewes with lambs made lis 8d all counted; wethers to 12s 2d; shorn lambs of medium quaUty lis _d_ dry ewes, mixed ages, 10s Id; and aged dry ewes, os 6d to 6s 6d. -The yarding of fat sheep was only a small one, but the entry proved more than sufficient for the requirements, and prices showed an easing tendency. The range of prices was: Prime wethers, 15s 6d to 17s 6d; extra, to 20s; lighter, 13s to 15s; prime ewes, 14s to 17s 9d; medium, lis to 13s 6d; and aged and light, 9s 4d to 10s 6d.
