BURNSIDE.

Dunedin, December 2. At Burnside stock market 219 cattle were yarded, a big yarding of good supplies. Forward prices, although better than last .week's, were not according to the quality of cattle. Porkers and baconers were in very large supply, but prices did not suffer much. There was rather a small yarding of slips and 'other pigs, and prices were equal to those obtained last week. Suckers, 19s to 265; slips, 28s to 335; stores, 34s to 395; porkers, 40s to 46s ; light baconers, 40s to 565 ; heavy up to £3 ss. Choppers, up to £3 16s. Sheep: 2000 yarded. A large proportion of shorn sheep. The quality of the sheep and wool was not up to the average, very few good quality being forwarded. Bidding was keen, but erratic, and prices taken all round were much firmer than last week's. Wethers (woolly), best, 22s 9d to 26s 6d; medium to good, 21s 6d to 22s 6d; inferior, 17s to 18s 9d ; best shorn, 18s 3d to 19s 6d; medium to good, 16s 6d to 17s 9d ; inferior, 14s to 15s ; best ewes, up to 20s 6d shorn, 14s 9d to 15s 9d. Lambs: 200 yarded. A fair yarding, but not sufficient to meet the demand. The quality was superior to that of last day, and prices showed an increase of fully 2s per head. Best lambs, 16s to 18s ; extra, to 19s 6d ; medium, 14s 6d to 15s 6d ; light, up to 14s.
