The Automobile Club of Australia held a successful Motor Racing Carnival at the Victoria Park Race- ! course, Sydney, on Saturday, tlie Bth iof this month. The carnival (says I the Sydney Mail) created unusual interest and succeeded in attracting about 8000 spectators. Mr Gordon Dixon's 25 h.p. Talbot succeeded in winning tho gold medal j and the coveted championship of Aus- • tralia. beating all other cars of much greater horse power. The touring raco for cars from 10 :to 15 horse-power was won by Mr j Phiaackerley's 10-12, 2 cylinder Talj bot, beating other four cylinder cars j of greater Tiorse power. The race for cars from 15 to 20 horse i power resulted in a win for Dr. I O'Keefe's 15 h.p. 4 cylinder Talbot. : This was a very exciting race between j fiist and second. The Talbot eveni uially won by 150 yards. The same distance separated the second j and third. This particular type oi car is said to be the most popular in Australia.
