The Conciliation Board had a protracted sitting yesterday to consider 1 its recommendations in connection * with the dispute initiated by the But- ' er, Cheese and Creamery Workers' Union, and considerable progress was '. made. The Board determined, however, in view of the number of intri- , cate questions involved, to summon . the aid of representatives of each side, as was done in the shearers' case. This course will probably necessitate a dgy's sitting at Palmerston, in which case the fixture will be made to fit . in with tne sitting there on the i general labourers' case. It is hoped ■ that by this means recommendations j will b© devised which both parties will ' be willing to accept, and in that ■ event the Board feels that expert ; knowledge will prove valuable in con- . nection with the work of drafting.
