VICTORIA v. SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
TWO CENTURIES. Melbourne, December I. The weather was fine for the match Victoria v. South Australia. Armstrong and Tarrant, for the home team, did some tremendous batting, and their partnership produced 221 runs. Victoria's first innings realised 699 and ended just on time being called. Armstrong made 231 and Tarrant 105. The Feilding Cricket Club's team did not proceed to Palmerston on Saturday to finish its match against the Federals. The Association is to settle the question whether the match will he resumed. It is understood that it will not be a forfeited game. It appears that the match which the English team is to play on the 6th, 7th and 9th inst., at Brisbane against an eleven of Australia is not to be a. test match. The first test match is to open at Sydney on the 14th inst. The absence of South Australian players from the eleven of Australia match to be played at the end of this week is due to the fact that the inter-State match S.A. v. N.S.W. is also to he pUa/erl on Friday, Saturday, and MonxTay next
