A GRIEVANCE.

TO THB KDITOB Sir,—Will you allow me a very little space in your valuable paper, for a few remarks re our road —Beattie street. It is in a very dangerous condition. There is not a pretence to a footpath on either side, and to get away from the muddy road you ave to walk alongside a very large drain, and watch carefully that you don't fall in. It is wonderful there is no one drowned before this. The water rushes with such force when there is a day's rain, it makes one quite dizzy, and we have to forego all the bargains up town. Worse still, there is not a Councillor living in this neighbourhood, and on that account I would not think of a fair share, but just a little to make it passable to town. Hoping this will meet with the City Fathers' favour. —Yours, etc., A RESIDENT OF BEATTIE ST.
