Light fat ewes 15s, f.m. ewes in lamb 15s 6d to 15s 7d. AN IMPORTANT CLEARING SALE. Messrs Gorton and Son wish to draw attention to Mr S. Standen's clearing sale of purebred Ayrshire, Kade and crossbred cows. Not only ye Mr Standen's cows been most successful in the show ring, but what is much more important to the average dairyman, they are equally successful with the bucket— their average of £12 10s per cow for butter fat alone, last season, speaks sufficiently for the excellence of the herd. Among the herd are "Princess May," champion at Paimerston, Hawera, Wanganui, Feilding, Carterton, Masterton and Hawke's Bay; her daughters "Peeress," "Princess Royal," are all prize-takers: "Rhenna," 2nd to "Princess May* at Paimerston and Wanganui ; "Humility," several times champion, besides eight 2-year heifers, bred by W. Cowan, Oamaru, and late D. McGregor, Timaru. There will be no reserve on the cowSj as it is Mr Standen's* intention to give up dairying absolutely. This sale, therefore, offers a splendid opportunity of selecting high-class, high-test-ing, deep-*milking cows, tlie result of many years' careful and successful breeding.
