BAPTIST ANNIVERSARY.
■■II ■ •' ' " ' — The second anniversary of the opening of the Baptist services in Feilding was celebrated yesterday by a tea meeting in the Oddfellows' Hall, and a public meeting in the new church building. The tea meeting, which commence! at 5.30, was well patronise!, the excellent cooking being greatly appreciated. At 7.30 the public meeting was held in the church, the building being comfortably filled. Pastor Swirierd read some congratulatory letters and telegrams from other centres, and the annual report was read by Mr W. Watson. Short addresses, were given by Revs. J. J. North, McDonald, Spottiswoode, Ccssum (Primitive Methodist), Biidd (Presbyterian), Adj. Melkshom, Messrs G. Carton (Wanganui), Wratt, and Petherick (arehitect)l Solps were rendered by Misses Bray and James, and the Baptist choir from Palmerston, under the baton of Mr Moore, gave several anthems. A collection in aid of missions was taken .up. The Baptist Church here is now well on its feet; and people of that I persuasion will have a comfortable , building te worship in, and regularj ity of servioes.
