MARKET REPORT.
At Palmerston on Thursday a full yarding of cattle came forward, consisting principally of small lines of store and fat cows, empty heifers and young cattle, and as vendors were prepared to take the prices offering a good sale was the result and very little went out unsold. One line of 153 . 2J-yeav steers was not sold. Another line of 3-year steers passed at auction was evntually sold at £4 3s. The yardiug of sheep was below the average, and with the exception of one large line of store wethors all lots were disposed of at satisfactory prices. Quotations: — Two-tooth .ewes in lamb, 225; ewes in lamb, mixed ages. 16s 6d to 16s lOd; fat and forwam owes, 13s 8d to 14s '6d ; store ewes, 9s 7d to 12s 9d ; lambs, 11s Id to 12s 2d; cull twotooth wethers, 13s 7d; cull lambs, 8s lid. Cattle — Three-year steers, £± to £4 3s; rough three-year steers, £3 11s to £3 12s 6d; fresh-conditioned two-year steers, £3 ss; fat cows, £4 to £4 10s; forwar dcows, £2 10s to £3 los; store cows, 25s to £2; good weaners, 20s to 245; small weaners, 7s 6d to 12s 6d ; yearling to 18-month heifers, £1 2s 6d to £2 ss; two-year empty heifers, 26s 6d to 30s; quiet dairy heifers in calf, £3 5s to £3 17s; springing heifers, £4 to £5.
