CONCERT AT KIMBOLTON.

■ — The Anglican Church concert at Kimbolton last night was a big success, the programme being of an interesting character. The audience appreciated the general excellence of the items given, and applause was profuse right through the evening. The programme opened with a pianoforte selection from "Maritana" by Mrs R. Weeks. Mr J. Capper followed with a song, "Home, Boys, Home," enthusiastically received. "Three for Jack" was finely and spiritedly sung by Mr Chas. Baynes, and the coon song, "Shine, Shine, Moon," in character, by four coons, was vociferously applauded, Miss Sandilands (Invercargill) rendered a violin solo, "Alice," with good expression and feeling, and was highly appreciated. This young lady also played in a duet with Mr Baynes, an item which pleased the audience well. Mr Sawtell (Feilding), whose name and fame are too well known to need description, made a valuable addition to the programme with his imitations of animals, French music teachers, and a cat duet. A contribution by three beggars greatly amused the audience. Several patriotic songs, in which the audience helped in the choruses, were of course popular. The concluding item was a farce, entitled "Box and Cox " which proved an exhilarating finish. During the evening the Rev. C. R. Cassell spoke in high terms of the services rendered both to the town and the Church by Mr Chas. Baynes, who, as organist, was of great help to the Church, and in many ways a good citizen. The promoters of the concert also wish to acknowledge the help given by the Rev. J. Mayo, Messrs Henley, W. and C. Jacobs, Oliver, and Wallace. As a result of the concert, the Church will benefit to the entent of about £6 .
