Some estimates place the American and Canadian crops at 25 million quarters below the 1906 yield, and for Europe 20 million quarters below. Sales — 10 cargoes Australian are reported, ranging from 33s ljd to 33s 6d. Babbits — Nothing doing. Sheep. — Canterbury, light, 4 3-16 d; medium, 4d; heavy, 3fd; others are unchanged. '■ Lambs— Canterbury, medium. ssd» others, unchanged; North Island, New Zealand beef, fair average quality, 180 to 2201 b, ox fores, 3}d; ox hinds, 3|d. River Plate sheep, he#vy, did; j light, 3|d; beef, fores. 3Jd: hinds, 3Jd. At the kauri auctions 1100 casks were offered, and 150 sold at full rates. All three-quarter scraped were withdrawn. The Peninsular and Oriental Ship?ing Co. has declared a dividend of per cent, on deferred shares.
