♦ (Before Mr A. D. Thomson, S.M.) (Continued from Yesterday.) Judgment summons. — Boss and fc'ipnall v. T. H. Jackson, claim £1 10s; order made to pay forthwith, in default three days' imprisonment. J. Gould (Mr Carty) v. Darragh and Bottcher (Mr Haggitt), claim I' 3" 2s for commission on sale of a pj operty. Plaintiff claimed that through his intioducing a buyer, the property had been sold. At the time he n>ade the arrangement, Mr Darragh promised to give him something, but d(\ not state any amount. G. Campbell deposed that through plaintiff he learned that the property was for sale, and accordingly purchased the same. For the defence, W. Darragh said he never promised any commission. Plaintiff came to him and told him that he could get a purchaser for the estate, and asked if there was any chance of a couple of "quid," , if the place was sold. Witness told ; h:m then that he could not promise hi mi anything. Mrs Bottcher gave corroborative evidence. The S.M., in giving judgment for cl< fondant, said Gould had heeu a volunteer in the matter, and no contract had existed. Costs amounted to £2 2s. V. Flavell (Haggitt) v. W. Wilkin. ttrtn (A. G. Carty), claim £4 12s, for hire of horses and gigs. Judgment v ont for defendant with £1 Is costs. F. H. Fowles (A. G. Carty) v. T. A Askew (F. H. Haggitt), claim £2 in lieu of a week's notice. The defence was that plaintiff absented himself from work without lia\e on more than one occasion. Judgment was given for defendant with costs £1 Is.
