The result of the Caulfield Cup, which is run to-day, will be posted outside of the Star Office this evening. Mr A. Hall, the owner of Numa, denies that he and the jockey (W. Young) were disqualified for the day at the recent Otaki meeting. It will be remembered that the horse ran unplaced on the first day, but won the second day. The stewards met and by a majority of one, deoided to award the race to the second horse. Hall appealed against the decision, and the stakes were impounded. There is plenty of evidence forth coming, satisfactorily explaining the running on the first day. The horse struck a fence heavily, and it was only through another jockey pulling Young back into the saddle that prevented him falling off. The reins slipped over the horse's head, and the boy, in throwing them back, got them reversed, and was therefore unable to manage tbe horse. Numa has still got a <* leg " through colliding with the fence. ===_=
