DAIRYING PROSPECTS.

Telegraoh Press Association Copyright Wellington, September 19. Chief Dairy Commissioner Einsella is of the opinion that )the farmers of New Zealand are losing a million yearly through not weeding out their unprofitable dairy stock. Mr Einsella has found great reluctance on the part of dairy farmers in New Zealand to part with their poor cows. They do not, he says, realise that if they weed out poor milkers and replace them with better animals they will increase their profits to a wonderful extent. It costs as much to keep poor cows as good ones, and the difference in profit is considerable. The Commissioner says we are going to have a wonderfully prosperous dairy season, but he is rather afraid that high prices will have the effect of making farmers more indifferent than ever to the necessity of improving the quality of their herds.
