A TITLED MURDERER ACQUITTED.

Telegraph Press Association Copyright. Berlin, March 6. The Supreme Court at Berlin, on the grounds of insanity, has acquitted Prince Prosper Von Arenberg, who, in 1900 was sentenced to death for the murder, under circumstances of incredible barbarity, of a native chief in German South West Africa. The sentence was subsequently reduced to five years imprisonment. The evidence at the trial just concluded, showed that he was guilty of abnormal acts of cruelty in childhood, and took a delight in witnessing pain. The trial has caused much excitement, and a considerable section of the public is indignant at the acquittal, believing that the result is largely due to Arenberg's rank. His friends have placed Prince Arenberg in a private asylum.
