N.S.W. y. Australian Eleven. Telegraph. Press Association Copyright. Sydney, December 12. The Australian Eleven made 191, the principal scorers being Duff 66, Noble 88, Hill 28. Howard took 6 wickets for 48. The New South Wales thirteen in their second innings have lost 4 4 wickets for 111, of which MaoKay, not out, made 45, and Elbsworth 87*

The match between the Feilding A and B teams was played on Saturday, neither teams being fully represented. The Bs played without >. Entwistle and Johnston, and the A's were minus G. Bartholomew and Hunter. Fannin won the toss and went in on a fine wicket, which played well all through the game. The innings totalled only 21, Chisholin (7) being the highest scorer. The small scoring of the Bs was due to the bowling of McLean (3 for 5) and Parkes (5 for 14.) A's total was 56, Stewart (16 not out) and Prior, who batted nicely, (9) being the chief contributors. Fannin (4 for 17) and Smith (4 for 28) were the most successful bowlers. In their j» second venture the Bs fared very" • little better than in their first innings; Ghisholm (9) was again top scorer in a total of 82. McLean (5 for 3) and Parks (3 for 10) were again to the . fore with the ball. The A's thus won by an innings and 3 runs. The Oroua Association's champion* ' ship matches will be tontinued next Saturday, when Feilding A's meet Cheltenham on the latta'r ground f ' and Feilding Bs play Colyton at Feilding. The most noticeable feature in Saturday's match was the superiority of the bowling over the batting on both sides, and this, too, on a batsman's wicket. There can be only one reason for this/ and that is lack of practice. As practice wickets are in readiness every afternoon, it is to be hoped that members of the Club will avail themselves of the opportunity thus given of improving their form. As will be seen from our advertising columns, Lord Hawke's team will be playingfagainst Manawatu on Wednesday and Thursday, 7th and Bth of next month. Already a great deal of enthusiasm is shown, and as the Railway Department are running trains at excursion fares for those days, doubtless there will be a large attendance. A championship match was played at Coly ton on Saturday between the Colyton and Cheltenham teams, resulting in a win for the latter by 54 runs on the first innings. Fox the winners Mills, Hare, and Taylor batted well, Tappin and Barrow being very successful with the ball. Francis and Gibsone bowled well for Colyton. Following are the scores : —Cheltenham : J.
