Kirk, of the Agricultural Department, left by the Countess of Ranf urly for the Cook Islands, under instructions from the Government, to report, as to the growth and production of coffee, cotton, vanilla, cocoa* citrous, and other fruits in these islands. Mr W. A. Boucher, one of the fruit experts of the Department vrhb has had considerable experience in the gowth of citrous fruits in Cah> iorai&j accompanies him.
