As a result of the enquiries made on behali of the Eastern Extension Cable Co., when the Pacific cable to Canada will be opened, in order that the Eastern Extension Co. may make arrangements for opening their offices as allowed under the agreements with the various States, the general manager of the Pacific cable has informed Mr Drake that the probable date of opening will be November 15th. Sydney, Tnis Day. Arrived — Cable steamer An cli a, from Fiji. After repairing she proceeds to Roland to take aboard the Faning Island and Fiji section of the Pacific Cable. Tbe Anglia expects to arrive in Fjji again with the Vancouver end of the cable aboard in October.
