FRENCH TROUBLES IN SIAM.
Telegraph. Press Association. Copyright* Paris, May 1. Le Temps states that disturbances have occurred on the Mekong River, and communications with Vintian have been cut. The French Minister at Siam has remonstrated regarding the movement of Siamese troops. Serious difficulties are also reported at Battanbang. The Acting- Governor of French Indo- China, as a precaution, sent to the left bank of the Mekong, opposite Bassak, a town in Siam, a detachment of three hundred troops ; also four hundred to Pursat, a town in Cambodia, some miles south-east of Battabang.
