It is reported by private cable that thirteen of th 9 Eighth Contingent have been killed, and others injured, in a railway accident. Later. It is understood that the Governor has received a cable confirming the rumours regarding the train.disaster in which some of the Eight Contingent were killed, but up to midnight the details were not obtainable. Wellington, April 14. The Government has rsceived no information regarding the reported railway accident in which tbe Eighth Contingent are said to have suffered. Sir J. Ward has, however, cabled to Capetown for particulars.
