FOOTBALL NEWS.
• The action of the Rangitikei subunion in refusing to admit the Palmerston Football Clubs has induced local supporters of the game to make another effort to resuscitate the old Manawatu Rugby Union. The difficulty in the way is the debt which the Union has been so far unable to wipe off, but the secretary of the Palmerston Club has energetically set to work to ascertain what support will be accorded any movement to liquidate the amount. We understand that so far his efforts have met with encouragement, and with combined efforts on the part of all enthusiasts of the sport, the step should be successful. Should the Union be re-formed, Feilding and other clubs in the Manawatu district would be included, and Palmerstonians would again have the pleasure of witnessing well-contested matches on the local grounds. — Manawatu Times.
